Speaking of athletes who are in their prime, I woke up this morning and went running jogging walking for the first time in a long time. I’ve been meaning to get on some sort of physical exercise regimen for… Well, since getting married almost 7 years ago.  It felt good to get up early (another habit I’ve been meaning to form for some time now).

As I walked around the track of the school down the street, I was reminded of 1 Timothy 4:7-8, “…train yourself to be godly. For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.”

My wife and I have enjoyed watching much of the Olympics this time around. We love to cheer for our own countries (she’s an Aussie, I’m an American). I know it’s not en vogue to be proud of your country, especially if your an American, but I am. We also just like to cheer for good stories, good athletes. Competition is good. It can be good fun in context. We were interested in which countries have received the most medals over the years, so I googled it and found this really cool timeline. See how your country stacks up!
